Pneumatic flip-flop valves provide a switched output function from a single pneumatic or electrical pulse signal to the control input.
The 5-way valve switches and maintains its position until a new control signal of at least 300ms is applied. The control input signal alternates ports 2 and 4 upon each consecutive signal to achieve a flip-flop output function.
Flip-flop valves are useful devices where only a single control input is provided to achieve a dual output function, for example, door opening or closing; a double acting cylinder operates two directional with an individual control button.
Often flip-flop valves are used with ‘Reset Timers’ to achieve a continuous timed output for applications that involve mixing, stirring and diverting, where a reciprocating timed function is required.
Electrical coils and connecting plugs for the solenoid operated flip-flop valve are sold separately, voltages offered are 12V DC, 24; 48; 110V AC/DC or 230V AC. Solenoid coils slide onto a brass stem; a threaded cap secures the electrical coil in place, a wiring plug can then be connected.
